A few years ago I wrote an article Buyer Beware where I reminded buyers that we were not alone. Assume cameras (both visible and invisible) are inside. every property. And while it would be nice for sellers to disclose recording devices- it doesn’t always happen.
Remember to keep your comments and observations neutral. Calling somebody’s baby ugly and then writing an offer may not be the best way to start a negotiation. On the other hand, stating the house is worth way more than the asking price can also impact negotiations.
If you’re old enough to remember Candid Camera where people regularly made us laugh -try to be on your best behavior. Most Realtors® warn buyers about potential devices and Buyers need to remember the advice throughout the house-hunting process.
We unconsciously know when we walk into Target, Krogers, Macy’s, or any store that we’re on camera-just assume the same when looking at homes and condos.
Big Brother, Candid Camera is here to stay. Don’t jeopardize your home search by saying or doing inappropriate things while house hunting and remember to…smile!
