Many, many years ago when I learned to drive part of the training was changing a tire and checking the oil!

Times have changed.  I last experienced a flat tire in a car with 4 adults ( 3 with advanced degrees).   “We” spent at least 30 minutes trying to assemble the tire jack before calling for help.  Really how hard can it be to change a tire?  Even if we figured the jack set-up nobody would’ve been able to loosen the lugs.

There are lots of DIY and handiwork that many homeowners love to do.  And their finished work is professional.  But there are a lot of us who are trying to save money by doing it ourselves and the outcomes are often expensive to correct.

Knowing when to hire the pro is an important part of project planning and cost estimates.

Plumbers, electricians, appliance repairs, HVAC, concrete work, and painters are not inexpensive.

There are times when hiring a professional can save you money.  For example, it might be cost-effective to hire an interior designer to help with kitchen and bathroom layouts.  Or before you select the wrong color paint or wallpaper.

And of course, if you’re buying or selling using a professional Realtor® makes perfect sense.
