August’s home sales continue with slightly higher prices and lower sales volume.
First look at the single-family home sales through the end of August 2020:
| August Property sales were 2,204, down -2.3% from 2,255 in August of 2019 and -12.7% lower than the 2,525 sales last month. August 2020 sales were at their lowest level compared to August of 2019 and 2018. August YTD sales of 14,869 are running -4.7% behind last year’s year-to-date sales of 15,599. |
According to The National Association of Realtors® pending sales (sold but not closed) rose significantly in July. (Always a month behind)
And finally numbers closer to home from last week:
School is back in session in most areas so buyers and sellers can expect some shifts in the market. Cincinnati is still short on inventory which continues to drive prices up.
