Walk into any store and it’s hard to miss the Christmas decorations.

Holiday sales have already started!  And contrary to popular belief home sales don’t dive into the pits during the holiday season.

Two hundred years ago when I started selling real estate, experienced agents told me to relax from October 1st on -“since not much happens”.  They had me fooled since I was so busy it buyers and sellers I nearly missed Christmas shopping for my family.

The numbers don’t lie.  During the last 5 years, last quarter sales/closings remain consistent:

The yellow top of the block represents home sales in the last quarter.  And from 2014 through 2018  Cincinnatians can expect 22% to 23% of the annual sales during the last 3 months of the year.  So if you’re thinking about listing your property don’t “waiting” until 2020 or spring may not be the best idea.

Serious buyers are out during the holiday months and the numbers prove a significant number of homes do sell and close between October 1st and December 31st.

“Trick or Treat”, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and holiday home sales all contribute to the economy during the last quarter of every year.
