Cincinnati Buring Man

Burning Man happens every August in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.  In a single week, a thriving city rises from the dust.  During that time a community emerges based on 10 guiding principals like include Radical Self-expression, Communal Effort and Gifting economy.

Interactive art installations of all shapes and sizes are built. Some are burned to the ground at the end of the week.  Miraculously the city vanishes without a trace until the next year.

No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man offers an inside view of art and artifacts from the annual event.  The pieces are located around the Art Museum.Art from Burning Man

Like many people, I had a vague knowledge of Burning Man- mostly of the end of the week when the news story cover the fires.  The event is fascinating and I’m sorry it’s not closer to our area.  It seems like a great bucket list item.  The Art Museum has captured the feel of the event through the artwork.  Some pieces looked like something from Mad Max.

It’s worth the trip to Eden Park to discover No Spectators:  The Art of Burning Man.
