Greater Cincinnati Top Selling Neighborhoods in 2017

The Business Courier recently published an interesting look at the 2017 top selling neighborhoods in greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

The books haven’t closed on real estate transactions for 2017 yet because The Multiple Listing Service of Greater Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors need to review and clean up the data.  As of today, the greater Cincinnati area closed sales on 22,828 single family homes in 2017 versus 22,757 in 2016- almost a tie for the past two years.

The average sale price in 2017 continues to climb and the lack of homes for sale continues to dominate the local real estate news.

Some shifting in positions of the communities with the most sales probably due to the availability of land and new construction.

The bottom line for the greater Cincinnati real estate market 2017was a great year.

Sales in 2018 should continue to boom as long as sellers are confident enough to list their properties and not wait for a “better” market.  Slightly higher mortgage rates and changing tax laws could push some potential buyers out of the market but a shortage in the number of single family homes for sale is the biggest hurdle we need to overcome.
