filed under: Real Estate posted on February 13th, 2017

In the four county area, Cincinnati home trends during January showed a continued rise in the total number of single family homes sold as well as a higher average sale price.

The numbers below cover single family home sales volume for the 4 counties. Data pulled from the CincyMLS.

Graph of homes sales dollar volume for greater Cincinnati

All 4 counties started this year outpacing last year with higher dollar sales volume.  (January 2106)

  2016   2017
  # Units Avg Sales Price # Units Avg Sales Price
Butler 252 $165,895 265 $1169,883
Clermont 153 $171,388 157 $182,722
Hamilton 567 $176,151 548 $191,824
Warren 121 $229,523 173 $235,018

January weather was not s problem and mortgage interest rates are still at a historical low.  Biggest problem is the continued shortage of homes for sale in our area.  Anxious sellers are concerned that if their home sells quickly- they have no place to move.  While this is a huge issue, temporary housing arrangements have become the “in thing” in this market.  Short term rentals on furnished and unfurnished homes and apartments are available.
