Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, –  highlights our German heritage, German-style music and tons of  food and beer. First held in 1976, the event has grown to be America’s largest Oktoberfest with more than 500,000 people attending each year.

Oktoberfest is moving to a new downtown location with the annual event moving 2 blocks south to Third Street.  Hopefully SORTA and the City of Cincinnati can straighten out the funds to expand streetcar coverage during the weekend.

The Running of the Wieners

Before the Oktoberfest Zinzinnati festivities begin, one dachshund will be named, “King of the Wiener Dogs!”

Gemuetlichkeit Games

On Friday, watch the Gemuetlichkeit (goodwill) Games—including the Beer Stein Race and Beer Barrel Roll!

Join Oktoberfest goers on Saturday for the official opening ceremonies and keg tapping. Sam Adams founder Jim Koch will be tapping the keg!

Glier’s World Brat Eating Championship

World champion eater, Joey Chestnut, defends his crown as these weapons of mass digestion show Zinzinnati the true meaning of intestinal fortitude!

Sam Adams Stein Hoisting Championship

Raise your Beer! How long can you raise your beer stein? The Samuel Adams Stein Hoisting Championship, a contest of grit, determination, strength and the desire to drink the contents of the stein, will take place on the Oktoberfest Zinzinnati Main Stage after a series of preliminary events hosted at local bars and pubs. World’s Largest Chicken Dance

One of the favorite events at Oktoberfest is the World’s Largest Chicken dance. One of the ways this celebration distinguishes itself from the others is the chicken dance – thousands of dancers have congregated every year since 1994 when Zinzinnatians set the record for the largest Chicken Dance in the world.
