Cincinnati home sales rose 3.1 percent in February compared to February 2015.

The report released by the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors  compares home sales volume and prices:

Comparing February 2016 to February 2015

• 1,400 homes vs 1,397 homes a 3.08% increas
• 4.51% increase in home sales volume
• $161,686 vs $159,468  a 1.39% increase in the average sale price
• 4.80% increase in median sale price $131,000 vs $125,000

Year-to-date 2016 to 2015

• 6.66% increase in the number of homes sold- 2,820 homes vs 2,644
• 8.54% increase in home sales volume
• 1.77% increase in average sale price – $163,961 vs $161,117
• 6.52% increase in median sale price -$129,950 vs $122,000

The greater Cincinnati area real estate market is ahead of the national housing trends where- according to an article in Tuesday’s Wall Street Journal- “U.S. Existing Home Sales Tumbled 7.1% in February”.  For up-to-date numbers and sales in your neighborhood Call/Txt As long as interest rates on mortgages the number of homes for sale remain low -Cincinnati can expect sale prices to inch up in many (but not all) neighborhoods.
