I know you’re tired of hearing it and after months and months of the media, local real estate companies and your favorite real estate agent telling you- the lack of homes for sale really is having a negative impact on potential buyer’s motivation.

The chart on the left provides a 24 hour snapshot of the new listings and pending sales.  134 new listings and more than 50% of the number of properties hitting the market sold in the same time frame.

Comparing the number of homes and condos for sale at the end of January 2015 to the number available today shows the steep decline.  In January 2015 buyers had 8,580 homes and condos to view and today they only have 6600 units.  That’s a whopping 23% decrease in the number of properties for sale.

According to the Multiple Listing Service of Greater Cincinnati from 12/01/15 thru today 1981 single family homes and 259 condos are now pending sales (sold but not closed).  Reviewing real estate market insights if you’re considering moving anytime this year- sooner may be better than later.
