A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

In Cincinnati real estate as well as lots of other things, the phrase “a picture is worth a million words” is used in every profession.

Real estate agents often find themselves scrambling to find some way to communicate an image to a seller needing to clean up and remove clutter prior to listing. Or helping a buyer overcome their doubts that a house with dark blue walls and carpeting has potential.   Images also come into play before buyers even walk through the door when 92% of them start their home search on the internet.  If you want to see really bad (and funny)  MLS photos you can chuckle your way through lots of sites -including one on Pinterest.

But potential buyers and sellers are also looking for everyday ideas on how to improve their homes and need to see a picture before making a decision.  Fortunately tons of web sites provide just what’s needed.  My all time favorite is Houzz.

These ( and lots of others) provide great ideas and in some cases information about where to purchase things like rugs, lamps or furniture.

Did you ever have a problem deciding on what shade of paint to choose?   Well there’s an app for that too.  Better yet I discovered the most wonderful lady at the Sherwin Williams Store on Dixie Highway in Fairfield.  I call her the “paint whisperer”.  Believe it or not, the retired decorator seems to be able to read minds and provides wonderful advice on color selections.

So as homes go up for sale in Cincinnati and you’re scratching your head trying to visualize how to spruce up your current place or make a decision about making an offer on the property with blue walls and carpeting – “picture” the improvements and the fixes b
