Which one is better Cincy MLS, Trulia or Zillow?

filed under: For Buyers posted on October 13th, 2011

In this “I got the information first” world I decided to conducted an unscientific test of which site has the most accurate information. So at 10:22 Wednesday morning a data request for single family homes for sale in 45208, priced between $200,000 to $400,000 produced the following results:
Zillow -64 listings
Trulia – 68 listings
Multiple Listing Service of Greater Cincinnati (Cincy MLS) – 73 Listings

The visuals on Trulia and Zillow are much prettier but if you want the most up-to-date information- users can’t beat old faithful -the Cincy MLS.

Zillow 64 SFH Listings

Trulia 68 SFH Listings

MLS of Greater Cincinnati 73 SFH Listings

In our area information about greater Cincinnati homes for sale has to be submitted to the Cincy MLS first and once the data is entered the information magically flows to all the other web sites.

So if you’re a hardcore buyer have your agent input profile with details about price, areas and anything else you want into the Cincy MLS. Then, after checking a few boxes, you will receive emails with¬† listing and price change information as soon as it is entered into the system.¬† In short-you may get the information before Trulia, Zillow or Realtor.com has the data feed.

Still not sure how it works- call and I will be happy to walk you through the process and arrange for you to receive timely updates.
