Cincinnati Segway Tour -Overlook

It was a hot, sunny, delightful afternoon as we traded in our Groupon vouchers for helmets and vests needed for a Segway Tour of Eden Park yesterday.  Apparently 4,000 tours were sold through the Groupon event and we happily joined 2 other couples who were adventurous enough to hop on the 2 wheeled vehicles and tour through Eden Park.

After a one-on-one hands on training session with our great guide- we were off and rolling around the park and catching some spectacular views and enjoying a history lesson.

Even though we have been through the Park and often visit the Krohn Conservatory, our guide pointed out numerous spots of interest and added great stories which made the history lesson most enjoyable.

After zipping around and we had some time reflect at the Viet Nam War Memorial.

Parked on top of the Old Water Reservoir- we learned about why it finally drained and Cincinnati’s newest sport- Segway polo.

Since we managed to stay upright maybe we’ll Segway our way through Cincinnati’s waterfront or Over-the-Rhine on a tour.  Also of interest was a new one the group is starting in Louisville in caves underneath their zoo.  Tours of Spring Grove Cemetery are also available Tuesday evenings and now that we’re “experienced “drivers/riders” we can rent a Segway by the hour and zoom through Spring Grove on our own…now that’s a scary thought.

Segway(ing) is not a bad way to see the sights of Cincinnati!
