“The Banks” in Cincinnati

filed under: Cincinnati Ohio posted on March 31st, 2011

It started with a “Tweet” invite from @thebankscincy a few weeks ago and yesterday afternoon we had fun wandering in and around The Banks on a guided tour.  Dressed for the cold (hats, scarves, gloves….) we were able to go beyond all the construction fences and take a close look inside.

It’s an awesome development and should have a tremendous impact on the growth of residential development in downtown Cincinnati. The tour took us through several apartments in the North Building (red arrow) and the first tenants should start moving in mid April.  We looked at several 2 bedroom units -you can also lease a 1 bedroom or one of the few studio units.  For somebody working anywhere near downtown living here should be a no brainer.

For hard core Red’s fans- you can live on the east side of the building staring at Great American Ball Park.  The South Building (blue arrow) is scheduled for completion in May/June time frame.

The pool and amenities room are located in the South Building (apologies for pictures snapped with phone camera-often through windows of units still under construction =dirty windows)

Not to be outdone by the South building, the North building will have an urban terrace complete with trees and some great views of downtown.

And of course, spectacular views from many of the apartments

Access between the North and South buildings is underground so tenants can easily access parking and extras.

The ground level shops and eateries are starting to take shape and the tour ended at the Holy Grail (bottom right corner red arrow building pictured above) -Cincinnati’s new hot spot.  At 5 on a Wednesday the place was jammed.

Holy Grail After so many years of waiting for something to happen- the time has finally arrived for downtown Cincinnati’s revival to launch.

The Banks is just one example of apartment and condominium development in and around downtown- if you are interested in downtown living and don’t know where to begin -call me for help.
