Cincinnati is Working at Home and Garden Show

Local vendors showing off their goods at the Home and Garden Show.

Home and Garden Overhead 2011

If you park in the garage across the street- you can use the skywalk to access the Duke Center- skipping the rain and getting a great view of the entire show.

There were a lot of neats thing to see… a tub -definitely too cute to hide in a bathroom.

Not related to the show at all- but a colorful pair of boots walking toward the displays.
cool boots

But the most amazing thing to see is a giant (and I mean huge) bug- tucked away in a corner.  He or see is part of the “Big Bug” display coming in April to Glenwood Gardens in April.

Big Bugs in Glenwood Gardens

I think this “bug” was at least 12 feet tall and maybe 18 feet long.  Fortunately non of the companies specializing in pest control had booths nearby.

Have a great weekend.

A Jewel in the Heart of Cincinnati

Snuggled into wooded hillside of Eden Park sits one of Cincinnati’s premiere jewels -the Cincinnati Art Museum.

Cincinnati Art Museum

In addition to wandering around the halls viewing tons of artwork and exhibits- the building itself is an interesting mix of old and modern architecture.

Focus has been to make the facilty easily accessible to everybody and it’s hard to complain about free admission and the museum is open 6 days a week -Tuesday through Sunday.  There’s $4. charge for parking, but there’s a free public lot for Eden Park  just a short walk from the museum’s entrance. (Art and exercise)

While lots of Cincinnatians flock to other area landmarks, we often forget the jeweled treasure of art and history sitting just off Gilbert Avenue in Eden Park.

So if you’re looking for someplace to wander, the Cincinnati’s Art Museum is a great place to start.
