Cincinnati.com has a site called the DataCenter and it appears to have information about just about everything in greater Cincinnati.
The DataCenter, noted as a beta for now, accesses the County Auditor sites throughout greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. In addition to property sale information, the site allows users to search for:
- 911 Calls- Cincinnati Police Log
- New Business Licenses
- Dog Licenses
- Smoking Ban Complaints
- Arrests and Citations
- Stimulus Funding Requests
Like many “free” sites a quick ad pops up before the information appears- but it’s fairly easy to cancel the pop-up and move on. The search criteria is detailed- assuming you know the address of the crime or stimulus request- but I found information by simply typing the name of the street. Probably the most fun is finding “Stimulus” requests made to the State of Ohio. It’s an easy way to find out what projects are in the works and where our tax dollars may end up if the request is granted.
The value of the site comes from the “one stop shop” information it provides prospective buyers about an area. However like any data resource -it may not be up-to-the-minute accurate and buyers and sellers need to go one step further and actually contact local law enforcement if they have any concerns or questions answered about safety.
