What is the Real Deal in Real Estate?
October 12th, 2009 categories: Foreclosures & Short Sales

The ads blast us everyday.
- $99 to clean 8 rooms of carpet
- $1250 security system installed for free
- Eat or drink this berry and your body weight melts away
Many things we watch and hear everyday promise something for almost nothing. The ads are somewhat misleading-yet consumers continue to flock to the wrong places hoping to come out ahead. The most misleading campaigns proliferating today are from bogus “foreclosure & mortgage assistance” companies. While there are many legitimate groups helping cash strapped consumers, the fake companies continue to rip off unsuspecting home owners.
This week the “real deal” in real estate runs from Wednesday through Friday. A phone-a-thon sponsored by The Home Ownership Center of Greater Cincinnati. Callers to 1-877-7BUZZUS ( 1-877-728-9987) will have a case file opened with certified housing counselors. Then a face-to-face appointment will be set up with the caller’s lender to try and modify the mortgage or refinance the loan. This is the third event and more than 70 volunteers will staff telephone lines at the CET studios in the West End.
