Let’s Compare Sold Data for Greater Cincinnati
October 1st, 2009 categories: Sales, Stats

The final, final, numbers are available for August closings for the greater Cincinnati real estate market. It’s interesting to compare the numbers for each August since 2000.
In 2000 there were 2,005 closings. The highest August closing month was 2005 with 2,836 closings. Last year there were 1,776 compared to August 2009 with 1,812.
The better comparison may well the % of active inventory to solds for each August (single family and condo) versus the number closed. Below is a chart (data from Multiple Listing Service of Greater Cincinnati) showing the number of active listings/number of closings for August 2000-2009.

As you can see the % of solds to actives has decreased significantly over the years. The numbers for August 2009 reinforce that it is still a buyer’s market in greater Cincinnati.
